Patients can actively search for providers that match their specific needs and contact them without any hassle. Patients can take comfort in knowing that Alijor providers want patients to contact them. In addition, Alijor gives patients the opportunity to anonymously post their medical needs for interested providers to review and respond to. No other site offers patients this capability and convenience.

Similarly, providers can conveniently list their practice and rates information on Alijor. They can also search for and respond to patients they want to help or wait for patients to contact them. Unlike other sites, Alijor welcomes any and all providers to list their service information. Our goal is to offer patients the best possible selection of providers to choose from. On Alijor, there are no preferred providers, no partnerships, and no secret handshakes. We believe that all providers should have an equal opportunity to promote themselves and patients should be able to choose a provider based on the criteria important to them.

		About the Founder Allison Guimard founded Alijor in November of 2005 with the goal of creating a worldwide healthcare community where patients could find medical providers listing their medical services and prices and where providers could market their medical services for free. Allison has a passion for helping people solve their medical problems or, at the very least, making people's healthcare experience a little bit easier! She hopes that through Alijor she can not only create a better way for patients and doctors to connect with each other, but that she can also make people feel that they can personally create a more satisfying health care experience for themselves. Allison holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from George Washington University.

Alijor Fun Fact

The name Alijor (pronounced: al-ee-jore) stems from Allison’s desire to have a Web site name that could not be confused with that of any other healthcare Web site (or any other Web site for that matter!) Although you may think the name has a hidden meaning behind it (and you are more than welcome to interpret the name any way you please), the name truly came out of thin air one day in September of 2005 as Allison brainstormed (unsuccessfully) for a name of meaning for the online healthcare community she had dreamed up.... She may have seen half of the name on a truck as it drove by and the other half of the name on a food product in her refrigerator. Maybe she was dreaming of vacationing in Alijo, Portugal. Or maybe Allison merely wanted the name of her newfound idea to be similar to her own name.

To this day, even Allison herself, is not quite sure. But for some reason, the word “alijor” kept popping into her head throughout her brainstorming. One way or another, for better or for worse, Allison decided that the name of her company should be Alijor and she hopes that one day the name will have earned a meaning of its own!
